Favorite Friday! Math Must-Haves

Happy Friday! We are so excited to be sharing our favorite books, curriculum, resources, and supplies that we use to homeschool! Each Friday, we will be sharing products we love to use in our own homeschooling adventure. Enjoy these homeschooling items that we can’t live without….and you shouldn’t either!

Today we are sharing great math manipulatives and enrichment items that we have used time and time again! If you are struggling to decide on a math curriculum, check out this post to get all of the information you need.

The Carson Dellosa big Judy clock is an amazing hands-on extra to have when teaching your kids to tell time! Typically you will see small ones to purchase with a math curriculum, but having the large one around is a terrific way to model what you teach. The hour and minute hands are color-coded with the numbers around the edge, and as you move one of the hands the other will simultaneously move too. We have used this in our programs since the beginning! This is one that we find ourselves pulling out when we have another child ready to learn time.

Have kids that need to move? Learning Resources Math Mat Game is the perfect way to take a break from any seat work and get their bodies and minds moving! This interactive floor mat has a variety of challenges that teaches numbers, counting, addition, and subtraction up to 20. Not only are you practicing math skills but listening and large motor skills as well. It was such a fun way to have our elementary kids get up and move!

Want to incorporate a fun game into learning math? Shut the Box Dice Game is an entertaining way to reinforce math facts and critical thinking skills. Up to 4 players can play at a time, and it is great for kids as well as adults. Perfect for ages 6 and up. Roll two dice and try to make them equal a number to flip down on your side. You can use any number of operations you want depending on your children’s skill levels. The first player who flips all of their numbers down wins.

We hope that your family will find these resources as awesome as we have. You will want to be sure to check out our other Favorite Friday picks!
