This Friday, we want to share our favorite games for ages10 and up! These are perfect Christmas gifts that don't include screens! Also, perfect to play during your homeschool day for a quick pick me up or strategy session! That is where these games come in! So without further ado, here are the top 3 favorite games our tweens love to play!
This quick card game only takes 5 minutes to learn and 15 minutes to play, making it perfect for a short break in your school day. It is a strategic variation of Uno, but you can lose at any minute if you draw an Exploding Kitten card (and don’t have a card to save you). It is more fun than traditional Uno and “cooler” too (which can be important when they hit those teen years)! The original game is for five players, but a party pack for up to 10 players is available. All of our teens have loved this one!
Also, by the makers of Exploding Kittens, imagine “card game meets dodgeball”. This hilarious game is quick-paced and active! The card game, where the goal is to collect matching sets, will have your family rolling in laughter by combining mental and physical challenges. It is completed in just two rounds of play so that it can be finished quickly. And who doesn't love a game of dodgeball but with burritos?! Just be sure to put away any breakables before you start the game!
Our family has been playing this award-winning game for over eight years! It focuses on civilization building through harvesting and trading resources. This board game changes every time you play as the pieces get set up randomly each game. It is a highly strategic game that takes about an hour to play. The original set is for 2-4 players, but you can purchase the expansion set to play up to 6 players. This one takes some brain power but once you play it once, your family will be hooked!
Tip: We have found that these games (and, of course, some snacks) are a great way to spend time with your tweens and make time to talk!
